Tasty treats for your littles

Do you have littles that like to have yummy snacks? Maybe you like yummy snacks? But you want to have a healthier option— where you can pronounce all the ingredients? Snacks that have few ingredients? Well you found the perfect recipe! Thanks to @prohomecooks for this great alternative!

These are quick and easy to satisfy your salty cravings that you won’t regret snacking on!

** I like to have all the items we are needing out so I can explain to the girls what we are doing and our oldest always like to see everything, so when she says “can you show me Mama?” I can say right away “of course honey”.

Making these offered a few things for me– being able to have my girls indulge in delicious but healthy snacks… we know exactly what is in these and that is fantastic. They also are so versatile we have made cheddar, pepper jack, we even did a Parmesan Cheese It…

All combinations of this have been incredible.

And this is extremely easy to make, Sofie has told me the steps many times on what needs to be done and when!

I hope you enjoy these tasty bites!

Happy Cooking!

  • 3/4 Cup Flour we use Kamut or Einkorn— both create an amazing rich flavor
  • 1/2 tsp Fresh cracked Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • Water just enough until it comes together

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • In a food processor , add in your cheese (or cheese(s)) cut into small chunks is best. And pulse until broken down and crumbled.
  • Add in seasonings and pulse to combine
  • Slowly stream in water, one tbs at a time, until it comes together
  • Dump your cracker tough onto a parchment paper sheet, place another on top and use a rolling pin to roll out ( you want to make as thin as possible for wonderful crispiness)
  • Once at desire thickness cut into squares (using a pizza cutter is the easiest option for this). Once cut use a tooth pick to make a small hole in the center.
  • Place in the oven for 15 mins ( can add additional time depending on how your oven cooks and how crispy you prefer things)
  • Take out after 15 mins and cut again along the same lines to separate and bake an additional 10 mins
  • When done let them cool & store in an air tight container! ENJOY!
